Libas - the first battery and LNG-fueled fishing vessel

The Lie family, through their company Liafjord AS, has again thought far ahead when building the new Libas. This time, it is the environment that will benefit from the exciting shipping company from Sotra, Norway.

More than a year ago, Salt Ship Design AS got the assignment of developing a fishing vessel unlike every already built fishing vessel. After a long development phase, both parties are proud to present the first sketches of the new Libas.

The new vessel will be 86 meters long and have a beam of 17.80 meters and will be built at Cemre Shipyard in Turkey.

Libas will be built with a 350 cum LNG-tank, that along with a large battery pack, will be the eco-friendly fuel for the new vessel.

The ship is equipped as a purse seiner, and for both single and double trawling.

There are some final clarifications of equipment, so more details will be released.
