Frøy has ordered two new 4,500 m³ Live Fish Carriers based on Salt Ship Design’s next-generation Live Fish Carrier design, with options for an additional four vessels.
The vessels will be built at Nantong Rainbow Offshore & Engineering Equipment Co., Ltd. and are scheduled for delivery in 2029.
The design has a strong focus on fish welfare, biosecurity, energy efficiency and operational flexibility. Building on the first vessel currently under construction in Europe, the new vessels will incorporate further optimizations and technology developments.
The vessels will provide flexibility for different operational requirements and fish treatment technologies.
