Salt has in a joint effort with Kongsberg and Adaptive Marine Solutions (AMS) been awarded an assignment by Canada to develop contract design for the mid-shore multi-mission vessels to be operated by the Coastguard. This is considered a definite breakthrough for the Salt and Kongsberg cooperation under the Vanguard product portfolio, with a design assignment that will form basis for a newbuild program of 6 vessels. The technical work is to be executed in cooperation with Ottawa based AMS where Salt provides and grants the conceptual solution with assistance from AMS for the full detailing into a comprehensive contract design package. The mid-shore multi-purpose vessels truly defend their name being a combination of a coastguard- and a research vessel meant to execute marine science, hydrographic surveys, search and rescue, and icebreaking.
It is an honor for us in Salt to take part in such a prestigious project. Together with our partners we intend to deliver a harmonized contract design suitable for quoting by the bidding shipyards. With our slogan being “passion for ship design”, we will do our part for the Mid-Shore Multi-Mission vessels to become the efficient workhorses as intended for the Canadian Coastguard.
