New contract for Two Energy Vessels, Option for Two More

Salt Ship Design has secured a contract for the design of two Energy Construction Vessels (ECVs), with an option for an additional two. The vessels, for an undisclosed owner, will be built at Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry Group Co., Ltd. in China.

The vessels are based on the SALT 311 ECV design, developed for demanding offshore operations. Each will measure 111.2 meters in length, 23 meters in breadth, and feature a deck area of 1,400 square meters. They will have accommodation for 111 people, a work moonpool of 7.2 x 7.2 meters, and a 150-ton offshore crane with active heave compensation (AHC).

Prepared for below-deck carousel installation and alternative fuel operation, the design enables a wide range of assignments across both the renewable energy sector and the oil & gas market.

Salt Ship Design will deliver a complete design package, including detailed engineering, for the project.

WSIG and Salt Ship Design have an established collaboration. The yard has previously delivered two Salt 305 Offshore Construction Vessels (OCVs) and currently has four Salt 308 OCVs under construction prior to this new contract being signed.
